1.
The implied six-pointed star is composed of an upward-pointing grand trine formed by the Moon conjunct Jupiter at the Midheaven, trining 6th-house Pluto and the 1st-house Sun. Since Uranus also trines the Sun, it is also included. A grand trine is a triangular configuration with a planet or set of planets at each point, 120° apart, and is considered a great gift, often overlooked by the native. The implied downward-pointing grand trine is composed of 8th-house Neptune, which sextiles both Jupiter and Pluto while trining Mars (the second point of this triangle); Mars opposes Pluto. A planet between about 27° Gemini and 10° Cancer would complete the pattern. Learn more about star patterns in Person Centered Astrology, by Dane Rudhyar, Aurora Press, 1980, pp. 218–221.

2. Including a 2° orb, transiting Pluto squared natal Mars from June 8, 1999 to September 27, 2001.

4. Including a 2° orb, transiting Pluto squares the natal Ascendant from January 22, 2005 to November 14, 2007, conjoins the Midheaven from January 21, 2006 to November 14, 2008, and conjoins the Moon from January 22, 2006 to November 15, 2008. Progressed Mercury exactly conjoins the IC on June 12, 2006.

About-Face
From The Mountain Astrologer, June-July 2006 (3)

Q.  Over the past four years or so, my spiritual outlook has done a complete about-face. I have virtually no patience with others, and they none with me, yet I am striving more and more for loving relationships. My inner ears and eyes show me people that are not true friends. Does this have anything to do with my rising sign, or has it more to do with my Mars in Pisces?
About-Face

A.   The main pattern of your chart is an implied six-pointed star including seven out of ten natal planets, revealing a complex nature. There are two interlacing triangles, one representing spirit infusing itself into matter (downward pointing); the other is matter reaching up to embrace spirit (upward pointing).1 The challenge of this star pattern is the integration of one's spiritual perspective with real-world concerns. Your experience is heightened during periods when major transits or progressions highlight it, as is currently the case.

Your keen intuitive sense is embodied in your grand trine, including your Sagittarius Moon conjunct Jupiter in Capricorn near the Midheaven (acute inner perception), trining your 1st-house Sun (sense of self) and 6th-house Pluto (access to the unconscious). Natal 6th-house Uranus trining the Sun may show heightened perception.

At the time that your spiritual outlook shifted, you were at the tail end of transiting Pluto (releasing the past to embrace the future) forming a Last Quarter square to natal Mars in Pisces (your sensitive nature and unexpressed passion). This transit activated natal Mars opposing Pluto, igniting your more potent, impatient side, and challenging you to assert yourself in ways that may feel unnatural to your more spiritual, compassionate self (natal Mars trine Neptune).2

The key to your dilemma is for you to transpersonalize your focus.3 That means shifting your concentration from personal relations to the part that you play in the world, which will allow your personal life to rebalance itself effortlessly. This is the perfect time to positively harness your Martian energy, as transiting Pluto (the bigger game) currently squares your natal Ascendant (challenging your personal comfort zone) and conjoins your natal Midheaven (challenging your sense of place in the world) and the Moon (your innate responses to life); progressed Mercury, recently moving over the IC, fills out the sixth point of your chart's star formation.4 This is a call to action! You can shift the powerful energy from destructiveness in the realm of the personal to constructive activity in the world. What are you passionate about? What are you willing to fight for? Your deeply compassionate nature needs an outlet, while your fighting side needs something worthwhile to take a stand for.

Allow natal Saturn (self limits) square your Sun (self) and Venus (values) to empower you. Don't let the natal Moon–Jupiter conjunction (innate responses) square Mercury (intellect) and Venus (caring) keep you thinking without doing. This call to action is accentuated as you enter the First Quarter square phase of the progressed lunation cycle (exact on July 30, 2007), but you're already feeling it. It's now time to focus on the new themes and interests emerging since mid 1999, when you began this progressed lunation cycle.5 You should begin to feel the stirrings of how this can take hold in your life as you explore possibilities. Become involved with causes that touch your heart. Destiny's calling — are you listening? Ask yourself, “What is worth fighting for?” and open yourself fully to a life dedicated to changing the world for the better. You'll find that your impatience subsides while personal relationships improve.
